Come out and ride with the community to help support Mark Ornitz and family. In 2005 Mark suffered a brain injury due to a cycling accident during a race. Mark continues to be strong during his continued rehabilitation. As fellow cyclists, teammates and club members we would like to honor Mark with this special ride to benefit the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina. The Capital Cycling Club has partnered with the North Carolina Brain Injury Association for several years honoring Mark Ornitz “The Rock”, a teammate and community fund raiser himself who was injured during a bicycle race. The Ride for the Rock has been a quality event used to promote brain injury awareness and prevention among cyclists.

The ride will be fully supported, including multiple pit stops and a sag wagon. The entry fee is $20 online through BikeReg, day-of is $25. Tee shirts will be available to purchase day of for $10. All proceeds go directly to the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina. Preregistration is available at Bikereg.com. We are also accepting tax-deductible donations. Route sheets will be available at registration.

Local businesses The Cycle Surgeon and Triangle Chiropractic & Neurology Center will be present with tents near the registration area on March 3rd. They will be there to help get your body and bike polished for the day's activities. Triangle Chiropractic & Neurology Center will be accepting $20+ donations for the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina in return for free services!
